There are four distinct types of Rosacea - a skin condition that affects many men and women around the world. I have seen claims of more than 45 million worldwide and more than 16 million in the US alone.
Rosacea mainly affects the face. The most common symptoms are facial flushing, inflamed, dry and itchy skin, red nose, scratchy eyes, pustules and papules (sometimes referred to as "adult acne"). Click here for more on Rosacea Symptoms.
It affects men and women alike - more women suffer from the condition but in men, the symptoms seem to be more severe.
The condition can undermine self confidence and Rosaceans can become obsessed with the colour and condition of their skin.

Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea is the most common type of Rosacea. This ridiculously long word describes the red flushing of the face. In the early stages, the flushing is temporary and can come and go within minutes but eventually become a permanent feature.
